HAGELIN PRESIDENTIAL LAUNCH HUGE SUCCESS--EXCELLENT MEDIA TURNOUT FOR WASHINGTON EVENT

John Hagelin launched his 2000 presidential election campaign in Washington, D.C., on May 12 before 70 NLP national committee members from throughout the country and media coverage that included The Washington Post, USA-Today, CNN, and C-SPAN.

The event was held at the historic Hay-Adams Hotel, one block from the White House.

Vowing to run the "largest, most successful third-party campaign in U.S. political history," Hagelin outlined a political strategy that will put 2000 Natural Law Party candidates on the ballot in all 50 states and a public awareness campaign that will begin in a few months by saturating the airwaves with 60-second and 90-second TV spots on CNN, with Hagelin speaking on health care, youth violence, genetic engineering, foreign policy, and other issues critical to the future of the country.

"Most Americans realize that we cannot survive the next millennium without a radical rethinking of our policies, institutions, and patterns of behavior. The Natural Law Party is providing new ideas, new solutions--new leadership for the new millennium," Hagelin said.
